	Let the unprofessional studio process and open the failure hard drive that will make the media more serious damage.

	Keep the media/head running when the unusual noises occurred; it will grind the media more seriously.

	Edit or change the Hex Code cause the wrong booting of Windows, Mac or Novell. Unfamiliar with Windows systems of FAT32, NTFS, RAID, Linux, and Novell, but execute the Scandisk, Vrepair, or FSCK commands automatically while booting. These actions will destroy the internal data completely.



	(This hard drive is one of the unfortunate cases which has been dismantled in a personal studio where without the Clean Room. Contaminated and grinded media will lower the successful chance of recovery.)

Physical Damage: HDD itself is damaged.

	When the unusual noise occurs, the head is seeking abnormally. To prevent it damaging the media; immediate off the power is required. Do not open the hard drive. It only can be opened and inspected by experienced specialist inside the Clean Room.

	BIOS cannot detect. Have a computer engineer double check it, and also inform him that there is important data and should be handled with care.

Logical Damage: HDD is able to read and write, but unable to detect the data.

	Do not create any new partitions, format, or any other actions. Otherwise the data will hard to recover perfectly.

	Make a right judgment. Do not reinstall Windows or execute any Recovery CD. It will overwrite the data easily and the area being overwritten is usually counts as several GB.

	If Scandisk, Chkdsk, Vrepair commands are executing automatically while booting, press Esc to cancel. Find out the cause of damage first for fear of the mass destruction.

Notice: For avoiding the further damage, do not change or dismantle the internal Hex Code or overwrite. Send the failure hard drive to the experienced data recovery company for more successful chance of recovery.
