LINWEI DATA RECOVERY TECHNOLOGY LTD_PROFESSIONAL HDD DATA RECOVERY

RAID/NAS including:

¡DHardware Controller: Use RAID Controller to create RAID.

¡DSoftware Controller: Use RAID Function of OS to create RAID, such as Win2000, Linux, FreeBSD, Mac¡K.

The high stability of HDD storage in RAID is requested in order to store data. Therefore, the high leveled SCSI hard drives are recommended. However, hard drives will still be failure eventually. The fault-tolerant feature of RAID 1 or RAID 5 can allow normal operation under one damaged HDD situation. It needs to rebuild the damaged HDD as soon as the receipt of its crash warning to avoid further failure of another HDD to cause data loss.

Users should equip some basic knowledge to prevent two or more than two hard drives fail at the same time:

  • Taking RAID 5 as an example, we suggest users to install 5 hard drives in different brands & models and assemble them in priority of the lowest capacity. The reason is that the quality and validity of HDDs in same brand & model will be similar. Therefore, the hard drives might fail one after another in the same period of time. It will be a disaster if more than two HDDs fail for RAID operation.

  • Please label the hard drives in order (such as 1,2,3,4, or ID No.) to avoid mixing up while removes them.

Quick Setup: Install automatically (easy & simple).

Manual Setup: No suitable for new learner(complicated).

  • Add Disk¡C

  • Select RAID Level (0,1,---5)

  • To clean all data in HDD by initializing from 1% to 100% (equals to Low Level Format). The main purpose of this process is to make sure if there is any defect in each HDD.

  • Set up LUN(Logical Unit Number).

  • Save RAID Configuration and Restart¡C

  • Workable while LED shows RAID Ready.

Set Console before use: The purpose of changing Auto Rebuild into No Auto Rebuild for users is to monitor all the process in manual which allow emergent operation while Rebuild Failure. Also setting alarm sound on Beep or notice Administrator by other methods. All changes won't be Effected until Save and Restart.

Notice: Backup is still required since RAID is not a Backup Solution. Check failure reason while the alarm occurs.RAID 5 can still be workable even if one hard drive of it is damaged. Backup important data immediately to avoid another hard drive fails continuously. Don't Hot Swap hard drive while RAID works abnormally.Don't delete RAID or Delete Configuratiion.

Do not initialize (even 1%) or Create RAID while RAID Not Ready. Otherwise, data will be clean up completely. The process should be proceeded by professionals. Save and Restart should be done after confirming the correct sequence of HDD while hard drives are removed.

Please don't Save Configuration directly while Save or Not requests on Change Configuration situation. Make sure if there is any risk on any action takes.
